Feel free to post your thoughts on any of my comments- especially if you've read the same books as me!
Hachiko Waits I read this with some fourth grade students and it was a really powerful story about a man and his dog. Actually, a lot of this book is based on a true story of a man and his dog that waited for him at the train station each day. We also learned a lot about Japanese culture and traditions. I would totally recommend this book for dog lovers! I have a few copies in my room if anyone would like to borrow.
A Long Walk to Water
What a great book club selection (Thanks Mrs. Pellicano!) This was a very well-written book about the Sudan. Really helped me to put things into perspective, made me more thankful for what I have because things aren't so great in our world today. I would recommend this book to anyone :)
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Still working on finishing this series I finished the 6th in the series over labor day weekend. Believe it or not I've promised myself not to watch a movie in the series until I've finished the books. One left to go and I cannot wait! This book was quite interesting especially the end, I couldn't believe that Dumbledore died. What a shock! Although for some reason I still feel like Snape isn't a bad guy...I could be wrong but we will see! More to come on Harry Potter.....
